Lorry went in for pre-MOT on Fri as it has MOT today, got it back and packed it on Sat.

great journey straight up to A1, will def go there again as it is easy.

F&M precautions at entrance of event.

Walked the Novice course with Bee and her friend, thought it OK with a fair few questions and lots of lovely big 'kick on' hedges.

Realised our company was sponsoring the MI hayrack, so relished the prospect of a free lunch and hospitality.
Saw 3 people get stops and E at the water whislt we were walking.

Dressage, Bee did a nice test but went wrong, she scored 40, which we were delighter with as if not the mistake would have been her first sub 40 at Novice.

Now Willough has done Novice before, with Bee at JRN, this was her first 'proper' Novice and we didn't really want her to get a point as wanted to keep her in PN as her dressage is not good enough to be competitive at OPN. So going to SJ, lots of discussion on how to make sure she had 1 down!

Jumped a lovely round, just a bit short through first double and stretched to make up the distance to the 1.15m oxer, so just tapped it, I breathed a sigh of releif!

On to XC, the ground was near perfect, Willough sped round as fast as her hairy 14.2 legs would carry her to finish clear on 9.2 time.

This was her last event of the season so we were delighted with her, she has done 12 events this year, 9 BE and 3 PC open, in addition to doing PC tetrathlon and PC SJ, both at Area and Burghley (she has Peterborough on 14th Oct).

Then I had a lovely lunch with Stuart Buntine (organiser) who was working out the course for the rescued Holdenby that he volunteered to host when the Holdenby venue cancelled due to F&M worries.

Flew back down the A1 but thought the lorry was using lots of diesel.

Turned round just down from our house and reversed back up the lane to see I was leaving a huge trail of diesel!. The mechanic had not tightened a filter on Fri. Now cannot start lorry as it will pee diesel everywhere when I turn engine on so waiting for mechanic to come here before it's MOT.

Saw Boss's sister Tam on the lovely Odie, who went beautifully and was very unlucky to finish just out of placings. Odie is so similar to our Opposition horse.

Also saw Nickym SJ.

Sounds like you had a fab day, well done!! Great way to end the season.

I'm there on Sat for the re routed Holdenby event, never been before so quite excited!! Glad to hear the ground was good!

Well done!!

Tam was thrilled with Odin, considering that he hasnt actually left the yard since May he was a little pro and she said he really enjoyed himself

I saw the 2nd half of Odie's XC round and he was really enjoying himself. I see what you mean about them all being a bit 'pony'.

Tam was grinning from ear to ear when she finished. I didn't have chance to talk to her as there was a SJ course walk.

Nope didnt have any luck selling him, daft really as he has so much going for him. Juniors all want a horse to do JRNs this year and Badminton next year!!

Yes, he's very pony! So much fun xc when they are though as they always have that extra leg and are so nimble in combinations. She's certainly the funnest horse she's ever competed- there's just no stress with him!

What a shame - is he still for sale? Or will he be next yr?

[/ QUOTE ]

He's not advertised but yes, he's still for sale. If he stays with us then sister will hunt him and aim for a 2* next year.
