Mediocre day
It was soooo hot - no way am I competing in July or August. Dressage I had a very obedient horse but he lacked sparkle and was a bit flat due to the heat. Scored 37 could have been better but for rider inaccuracies

. Sj has been a nightmare for last 2 weeks was not great today as it was tiny. I thought it was intro when I first got there. Anyway 2 down with him being an arse a smack on the bum and he made a lot more effort.
XC was small and short - nothing tricky at all - horse was a bit stuffy and green in places but went clear. It has confirmed that this is a horse who needs runs in close sucession. So he is off to Pontispool on Sunday before a couple of weeks of BSJA to sort the sodding SJ out.

Our neighbours were very lovely gave us cold drinks and had a very nice chat. So many thanks to them.

It really was stiflingly hot today, I doubt many horses would have gone well, all ours were flat out or in the shade..
see you at PP, apparently the weather will change on Sunday, so better for the horses.

I actually thought I had heat stroke on the way home as felt dizzy. My face is burnt and still red now.

but after a super size coke with lots of ice felt a lot better. Rodney has a super special appointment in the main ring of the Bath and West next week doing inter hunt relay. Am preying he does not decide to be in one of his special moods.

Very hot yesterday. Like cheltenham last year! never again!!

Well done

My YOs son took my friends horse and they beat WFP

So he (and my friend) were really chuffed. Jumped a double clear and got 30.5 dressage - WFP had a showjump down and got 28.5 in the dressage

Sounds like it was a good morale boosting day. I'm doing loads of events in August, no worries, it always rains!!
