Win a horse???

At least its not a raffle and hopefully they will pick someone who knows what theyre doing! Especially with a weanling, eek!

I do remember 'pony' magazine doing a comp to win a pony and its upkeep for a year, oh I tried so hard and felt convinced I would win, alas I did not!

Lol, me too!! It would be awesome to hear how someone got on with a pony they won. I can't remember if there was a specific pony or if they got to go and choose one?
 
I remember in the far distant past when I was about ten, a friend of a friend won a pony via a newspaper competition - Daily Sketch? He was a lovely little skewbald, and he had an excellent home with his new owners. It was in Kent, and I think the girl's name was Tamsin.
Looking at the 4-H site, they do seem to be making sure the Arabian will be going to a sensible home, and that they keep a watching brief over it.
 
J1ffy, if I remember correctly it was a grey pony called sparky or something cute. I wanted it soooo badly too! Think they did a follow up with the girl who won- a pony-less girl's dream come true!!
 
Was it a pony called Freddie, t.at was won in pony mag? Im sure there was a follow up story over the course of the year. Also yh has done who a horse
 
I think Freddie belonged to the mag (Horse and Pony) but one reader got to ride him.

Pony mag ran a win-a-pony and I was gutted when i didn't win that, too. I remember it ran over several months and the girl who won it chose a gorgeous grey. I wasn't jealous, much;-)

WHSmith used to run a Win a Pony comp - once I won runner up prize and I was gutted :-( So near and yet so far!
 
Freddie was the little 12.2 chestnut (not that I was obsessed :o )and he had a series of loaners, who I wanted to hunt down and replace (see above^ :rolleyes: ) I remember the win a pony, that was amazing, but what happens when the year runs out!? I used to sit reading my Horse and Pony and Pony mags then wash it down with a 'if wishes were horses' on ch4 :)
