Apologies if this has been done before (which I'm sure it will have) but I tried Search and couldn't get anything.

There is a proposed wind turbine development near where I live and those opposed to it are citing the effect it will have on horses and people hacking out.

There are 2 wind turbines in a field virtually adjacent to where I keep my horses - they don't seem to have caused a problem, but I have yet to ride when the blades are turning.

It seems that the countryside will soon be covered over with these things and there's not much anyone can do about it. What experiences have you had with them?

they are currently building a big windfarm near to my yard. there's about 10 turbines up now but they aren't working yet. you can get really close to them while hacking out and my horses don't seem particularly bothered about them but am a bit concerned about the first time they'll be up and running! he he (apparently tho they turn them off when its windy?! not sure why!)

My mare was horrified the first time she saw them, mildly curious the second time, and every time thereafter, she's completely ignored them. They don't cause us any problems - the horses seem to get used to them pretty quickly.
