windgalls and barefoot or spring grass

in thoery, you should have less chance of getting windgalls barefoot as there should be less concussion and stress. but horses don't read text books!!

Not sure if this will help but my horses legs used to fill every day / night took hos shoes off a month ago and then a couple of weeks later changed his diet but within 2 days of me restricting his grazing and changing to a better more natural diet they have stopped filling, even after 48 hours in.

What have you done recently prior to the windgalls appearing?
Have you just had shoes removed?
What exercise have you done with your horse and how much turnout has he/she had?
What feed do you give?

Well my mare who has never been shod behind and is 12 has enormus windgalls on her hinds but her fronts which have always had shoes on are as clean as a whistle, she lives out 24/7 so strangely it would appear more concussion/wear and tear on the unshod foot.
