I have a lovely section D who I have been showing in hand but as a three-year-old, she is the most chilled horse ever, even making the 14y/o look fresh but for In hand classes this is not ideal. Any idea how I can get her a bit wound for the classes? Carrier bags flapping don't really phase her or whistling etc. Bonus for when she starts her riding carrier i guess :D:D

All tips greatly welcome as I can't find much online.

Funny how they are all so different isn't it. Kira would be very easy to "wind up" as she's only just keeping a grip on reality most of the time. I would not enjoy showing her in hand, we put her ridiculous nervous energy to good use between the white boards instead. I met someone yesterday with a very laid back D that was trying to get some of her hotness to train up the levels :o

My beautiful welsh cross mare ended up way down the line at a recent inhand show for the same reason being too laid back. She did everything I asked for and stood beautifully. The judge did say afterwards she was beautiful and in excellent condition but needed to be more upbeat. Should have seen her in the morning when she heard the lorry and knew she was going out. Once she realised she wasn’t jumping she switched off!
