Wanting to book tickets for a relative coming from abroad, but I have never been, so I don't know which is the best day to go. From the website, not much seems to be happening on the first day, Wednesday, but probably it doesn't show the whole schedule.

Are the driving classes only on the Saturday and Sunday?

I think we would like to include the Military Tattoo in the evening, so we need to book quite soon.

Any advice from regular attendees very welcome.
 
You'd have to look at the schedule and decide the events you'd like to see. We went every year except last when there was nothing to tempt us.

IME no days are better than others so to speak as the out of ring attractions are the same.
 
Hi - I go every year. To be honest my decider is which SJ classes I want to watch, as a lot of stuff is repeated over the days....... I've mostly been on the Saturday, and the Driving class on theat day is great - I think it's the 4 horse marathon (don't know technical term!!) which you can follow quite closely round the majority of the course (or on a bike if you're a pro!!).
Never been to the Tattoo myself but always hear good reports....
 
It's always 4 in hand horses as it's a world cup qualifier and last year it was pony teams too. Not sure what it is this year but it alternates, they don't have the full range of HDT classes.
