Hello,
I'm looking for some advice on horse who has recently started windsucking when being tacked up - I think it's windsucking, I've never seen it before but he grabs a piece of hay in his teeth and sucks air through it, you can see his throat muscles working as he swallows the air!
I think it may be a stress reaction as he's only started doing it since I've been working on him hacking alone which is something new for him.
I have the EDT and saddle fitter booked so I can check there is nothing causing him pain when being ridden that he would associate being tacked up with.
Just wondered if anyone had any advice on getting him to stop? He's only done it the last three times I've ridden but I really don't want this to become a habit!
