How does everyone deal with their horses doing it?
Connor wore a collar in the racing yard but the trainer said he didn't really need it. While he was in his stable and going out and coming it at night I never saw him do it. However now he is out he does it lots and I just don't know why?
How do you try and prevent it and what issues can it cause?

My lad windsucks,he has Coligone which helps a lot. But his wind sucking is due to stress or excitement, eg. when he first see us or when it is bucket time.

I find Coligone very effective. Personally I would never use a collar, to my mind it increases the stress therefore increasing the need to windsuck. Horses also windsuck due to ulcers and a lot of ex-race horses do have them. I would have your horse checked for them, there are things the vets can do to help.

My ex-racer mare windsucks, and it is generally worse when she's stressed or excited. I hate the collars, there's always a reason for them doing it and i think that forcibly stopping them can do more harm than good. I find adding limestone flour to her feed very helpful, and keeping her routine to that which she finds least stressful...? Hard to quantify as i've had her many years now, but a bit of trial and error and we have it sussed! :) :) :)
