Winenergy Equilibrium

I have used it and it is fantastic stuff, I thought it would have worked out expensive though fed at the rate they say, so since the bag says if not fed at full rate all a reduced amount of a vitamin and mineral supplement, that's what I did. I also added sugar beet.

It brought out previously unseen dapples on mine. Not the slightest bit heating either.

I'm not feeding it at the said rate, that would = a bag a week!

Am mixing it with some calm and condition, a cup of baileys low cal and handful of Quiet Mix.

She also gets the Feel Good 30 Garlic, Linseed and Parsley Oil, was'nt sure weather I needed to keep her on it now?

Hope you don't mind me asking, but just curious why you are feeding three different types of 'complete' feeds and a balancer. Is there a particular reason for that?

She was on quiet mix and the calm and condition to mix her 'Slut Mix' and oil in, and she loves the calm and condition. Have only introduced the Equilibrium this week, will drop the quiet Mix as soon as it runs out, only have a bit left.

She only gets 1 small scoop of soaked calm and condition - not a lot. And anything to try and reduce the overexcitable behaviour!!

I think I see now! Are you introducing the Equilibrium to be her main feed, but still continuing with a bit of C&C because it is a good base for the supplements?

I tried it and found it worked out to be hideously expensive. Instead I've opted for Winergy Calm energy mix, some Just Grass and a glug of soya oil - pretty much the same as the equilibrium but for half the price.

Yes, depending on how expensive it works out! I am not feeding her as much as its says on the bag either - at their rate a bag would only last a week, and she is currently looking fab on what she gets. - But can increase it if I drop the Quiet Mix and her Feel Good 30 oil and not sure about dropping the Low Cal?

I was mainly trying it for the "Promotes positive behaviour" !! May can be Nappy at times!!

Whether to drop or decrease the Low Cal depends howmuch of the Winergy and C&C you are feeding. If you are feeding the Winergy at, say, half the recommended rate, and the C&C at, say, a quarter of the daily rate, then May would be getting three quarters of her daily vit/mins from those feeds. In that case you would only have to feed a quarter of the recommended amount of Low Cal to ensure that she gets the full RDA of vit/mins.

That sounds like a sensible plan.

You should call them and ask them to work out if she actually needs the reccomended amount to get her vits and mins. My 16.1hh weighs about 540kg and they said she would be ok on 2.5kg per day until her work level increases as the feeds are so highly spec'd. think they must recommend more as everybody feeds a bit less!

I have recently swapped my two TB's to Winergy Equillibrium and its all I feed them, no added mix or beet or supplements. Its supposed to be a complete feed so I feed it as such. Both horses go through a bag a week so cost about £18 each a week in hard feed and supplements... when I was feeding seperate feeds plus supplements I was £25 at least. Making feeds is a dawdle now too - 2 scoops in night bucket, 1.5 scoops in morning bucket, add water and mix. I have saved time and money...

Most of all my two TB's are fat, have the right amount of the right kind of energy, have shiney coats, are more settled to handle and wolf down their feeds like it going out of fashion...!!!

Mine is 15'3 and weighs 520kg , will use up the other feeds I have and see how we go, I will still have to mix a supplement in for her 'mareishness'! I've just been and bought some powdered Agnus Castus, that mixes nicely with a bit of C&C!

Will have to see how her behaviour goes, she was very good tonight!

I have been feeding this to one of mine for the last 3 months on recommendation from Spillers who think my horse shows typical signs of EPSM and this feed is the only 'tested and proven' feed to help with this condition. He also has Hi Fi Light, Speedybeet, Equivite and oil. I pay £9 roughly per sack and at the rate I feed, it lasts me a couple of weeks. Cant say it has changed his attitude, but the extra oil is piling the weight on.

Yep... total winergy addict now.... Personally I dont think its any more expensive than buying 4 or five different bags! Its so much easier and all mine are doing extremely well on it, including Mr Colic case who since being on this has not had a colic attack! he is featured on their case study area!

Decision made, have just ordered some more from the yard! Will have to try and get some piccies of Madam in the daylight, she is looking fab at the moment, hearing nothing but good things about it!
