Went to feed my share horse tonight, he's got a new bag of dengie healthy hooves that we opened on wed's. Bag is kept in a plastic dustbin, tonight when I took the lid off all these little flying things came out!!! Not loads but I'd say prob 7 but too quick to identify.

What should I do? Chuck the contents or continue to feed. I fed a alternative tonight xx

were they like moths do you think - they could be flour moths? If so you need to save the bag and contents and it wants sending back to the shop and they have to send it to the manufacturers.

Yes, they where! Unfortunately my friend brought it and she's now in hospital recovering from back surgery so can't get receipt. May just have to chuck it :-(

No doubt chuck it if its flour moths it needs sending back to the manufacturer if you dont have the receipt this is not a problem. They need to see how the eggs got in there through their process. This happend with a friend of mine and her ready brek. What happend to her was she had opened her packet a few days earlier and then went to make some up for breakfast and found flour moths in it. She phoned up the manufactuer who said no way should flour moth eggs have been in the packet and its very serious if they are because they have got in there through their processing. She got loads of vouchers back and a massive apology.
