There was a great turn out at my most local event today, Winkleigh, which is only 4 miles away from us!!
The Blands did a terrific job in getting it running at such short notice, so a big thank you and well done to them.
The weather was perhaps a bit too hot, especially for those who had multiple rides but I am certainly not going to complain about seeing the sun!

It was our youngsters first ever event and I was a little surprised when I was told he would being going straight to Pre novice and not Intro, but I wasn't riding him so that made it ok

Aron, who was doing a splendid job as jockey for the day, was first in the arena for the dressage, my horse has a thing about spurs and proceeded to buck and lash out all the way through the canter work, so his score came out as the worst for his section

His first time in the showjumping arena more than made up for his dressage test but rolled 2 very unlucky plastic poles. Having found the xc start had been changed to the furthest corner of Southcott farm, I proceeded to follow Aron and Boo so I would be on hand if/when he finished! He had one blip in the water but crossed the finish line safe, happy and well.
To say that we are delighted with him would be an understatement, Aron rode him so well, he has an extremely calming influence on Boo and they work very well together. Here's looking forward to the next outing

I think it's because Aron is overqualified and can't see the point in going HC at Intro level! Thank you for the nice comments. We feel he has real potential. He was up for sale but I think we need to rethink that now!

Sounds good!!! Whens the next outing?
As you say well done to the Blands for getting an event together at such short notice.
