Well did our first PN with Rags the 5 year old today. My local course only 2 hours drive away and the first event I havn't had to stable at this year!
Really lucky with the weather which was dry other than the odd light shower and the ground was perfect. He did a nice dressage and I was a bit dissapointed with the mark of 37.8 however I don't think it helped that he fell up the centre line at the end halted at an angle and stuck his tounge out at the judge!
SJ was good and he jumped a clear which has always been his weak point. Only about a fifth of PNs went clear I think the brightly coloured plastic poles made him pick his feet up a bit.
XC was relatively traightforward and ideal for a first PN. He coped really well and managed the tricker combiations. We nearly came to grief at the corner when I saw an impossible long stride but he managed to get his feet out the way and I stayed on so we finished clear. I was chuffed when the results came out and we were 4th.
Rags is having a week off befiore Aldon and now getting ready for 1* at Weston with Sarnita. I need at least 26 hours in the day I reckon!
