Does anyone have one? Or ridden in one? How do/did you find it?

Does it put you in a good position?

Any info/experiences/views/opinions much appreciated!

Thanks

I loved mine on Otto, my last boy. I have a big arse though so fitted me really well, I found it put me in a very good position.

I’m disappointed that it won’t fit my new boy, he’s just too wide, shame.

Me riding in mine!

I sat in one for... ooh, all of five minutes before I got uncerimoniously dumped! I don't like Wintecs without the equisuede, I can NOT stick to them! However, I have the pro (equisuede) version of the 500 for my horse and I like it. Well I would have preferred the Isabell. As KatB said it is a little wide in the twist, but if you like flatter dressage seats then this is a good one. I bought some huge knee blocks for mine and it works fairly well! Although as I said, I prefer the Isabell as it has a deeper seat and I find it puts me straighter, but if you dislike being 'put' into position by the saddle as the Isabell doen then you may not mind this one at all.

I had one. Very good for the price I thought - never gonna be as good as an Albion say, but for 1/4 of the price what do you expect. I prefer it to the Isabel as I felt I could not move at all in that one.

They are good if you don't like being 'held' in a position, more a saddle which lets you sit correctly, rather than holds you there if you get what I mean.

If I brought again, I would get the pro as that has the same open seat, but better 'grip'. And my saddler said they are less stiff in cold weather. Although if you ride in the 500 in leather seated jodhs, you will not move an inch as you kind of get "stuck" to the saddle.

I used mine almost daily for about a year until my (extra wide) boy grew out of it and it still looked brand new when I sold it.

I've got the Bates Caprilli GP and i love riding in that so i think the 500 will definitely be the best seat fit for me. I won't get the Pro though because i'll be using a Heather Moffett Seatbone Saver on it anyway which will keep me stuck on, lol. So think i'll be getting the 500 dressage saddle.

I really wanted the Heather Moffett Fheonix (my perfect saddle) but seeing thats going to be £1,100, i just can't afford that at the moment with setting a business up. So i'll get that in a year or 2 time.

I love the wintec 500 dressage saddle, my Oh is very tall and much prefers this saddle to our wintec GP, woudl def recommend one!

Also would rather use a seat saver like you said than go for the pro , as although the equisuede gives you better grip I just dont think it wears as well as the equileather.

Ever tried sitting in an Isabell in full seat jods?! NOT fun! I could NOT move after I first sat down in it!

Local saddlers to me will stock some of the Wintec range but both refuse to stock the 500 as its just not good enough.
