Hi all. Has anyone got the newer wintec 500 wide saddle? I'm having issues fitting my table top fell who's short back. Prob is I'm a 17 1/2" saddle really. Anyone who has one any size can you measure the length please of what's sat on the back. Want a saddle that's shorter but wider seat to accomadate me but not cause pressure for him. Difficult! Not prepared to pay over £1000 really. Thanks.

I believe the tree on those is fairly curved. Suggest have a chat with sbloom on here... she specialises in fitting this kind of horse.

ETS I know she can sort out shorter panels to suit short backed horses, but with a longer seat to suit the rider.

Thanks for that. Will look her up. Such a pain in the bum ha ha. Even with a treeless its still length I have to think about and my sear size. If it don't fit both of us well I won't put it on him. Even treeless saddled can not fit right if too long or pressure in the wrong places. How long is it that makes contact with the back please?

If I can help do give me a shout, you can google my name and saddle fitter and find me :). Fells tend to need very flat neat trees, not too wide across the top, even if they need XW-XXW at the points. We are out of your price range new, though not by loads, but am happy to advise on finding something second hand, but then you may struggle to get the shorter panel/larger seat combo. If someone measures a panel for you ask that they send a photo with the tape measure against it, otherwise it could be quite a bit out depending on where it is measured. A straighter cut saddle will give you more room for the saddle on his back, unless your legs are very long (femur especially) when you may need a more forward cut.
