Toby the pony now needs wider than the white plate! Not fat, he's NF and muscling up nicely!

What colours and order do the purple ones go in so I can buy them this week!

cheers :D

The purple ones are for the wide saddles only as far as I remember . I think if you put the ones for the cob/wide saddles into a "regular" saddle it will damage it as points will be on the wrong place. I'd check with Weatherbeeta or a distributor just to be sure , you dont want to damage your saddle !

^^^ this. The normal Wintec and Bates saddles are not designed to be able to accommodate the extra wide gullets. There is no way to go wider than white without damaging your saddle. You may need to look into one of the Wintec Wide saddles.

Didnt I just say that ? !

Hence why I did the " ^^^^ this" part, I was agreeing with you...

You also mentioned to check with Weatherbeeta or a distributor, just to be sure... Having worked very closely with an accredited Saddle Fitter for over 12 months, I can confirm 100% that you WILL damage a saddle putting in the gullet plates from one of the Wintec Wide gullet plate range. I have seen many broken trees due to people attempting to adjust their gullets themselves.

I was offering confirmation on a point you had posted.... Geez, next time I won't bother. :(

So we are both right , Ive been selling and fitting Wintec for 10 or so years but sold up just over a year ago , hence check with Weatherbeeta or distributor just incase things have changed since I left the business.
Sorry if it came over the wrong way , not wanting to offend anyone .

Phew ! I dont want to upset anyone . I see you're doing your Bowen , my friend does my horses ... what a difference in them whilst she's doing them and once she's finished . Mentally and physically brilliant .

Yeah, I really enjoy it. It really rewarding seeing the difference that can be made to a horse in a few treatments, especially rescue horses. They respond really well once they realise you aren't there to hurt them.

I am bidding on the actual wide saddles on ebay, the one that goes wider than the standard one, and will be fitted by my saddler once I've got it. My saddler comes to us about three times a year! :eek!

...BUT I have a 'thing' about them fitting correctly...as most do here I'm sure! :p

Thanks for the advice, ALL of you! :D
