at the mo i have an albion k2 gp saddle and a wintec pro dressage, i brought the wintec as my boy has grown somewhat since i got him as a 4yo, saddler thought it was because he had put on too much weight, admittedly he had but really i feel he's grown muscle as well. Anyway managed to get him to loose weight and thought he was fine back in the k2, however have now noticed he has a rubbed hair patch on the right at the back of the saddle and worried its too narrow again so started riding in the pro with a mw gullet. ( he really isn't fat have weight tape etc to check him)
so really the question is what are the wintec cc saddles like as i feel i should really have a wider tree for him at the mo as am worried about the rub patch, and have noticed other posts about the albions falling to the right- anyone have an opinion on whether this may be the case here aswell?

tbh, albion = not very nice for horse's back, according to quite a few people whose opinions i really respect. stick a prolite under, it makes it a lot better, if you really want to keep using it.
no idea about wintecs, sorry.
you aren't using a girth with elastic at one end only, are you? just a thought.

ve got a wintec CC with cair, yes the wintec doesnt suit all horses shapes but Ive used mine (padded up or changed gullet etc, Im no cowboy!) on 10 different horses. It weight bears over quite a big area for a cc, nice big panels as opposed to the rolling pins of some makes. Just IMO though.
Prob is, wintecs often pick up at the cantle alot and 'wiggle' creating rubs and sometimes sore back- thats when the wintec shape doesnt suit the horse in question.

thanks for that, interestingly i do only have elastic on the left hadn't even thought of that, will def get it changed asap.
read the post about albions and was v suprised as only heard good things in the past, but am a bit worried now, H seems fine riding in his but wonder if his performance could be compromised he's only had that with me and does seem freer in the wintec pro but i put that down to the fact its a dressage cut rather than a gp.

I guess you can assume that the shape of the wintec tree suits him then, None of them are radically different to each other. All my saddles are fitted with pads on when the saddler comes so I tend to always use one anyway.
Try one, when I bought it new for the intended horse he buggered off in it, so much freer through the shoulders! Lovely saddle.

It's that time of year when the coat changes - We had a Wintec VSD and would get a rub at this time of year, even though the fit was ok.
I agree with the others, a prolite would be good.
