Have already posted a question re peoples thoughts on the Isabell, but yet to make up my mind !, have tried a friends Isabell once or twice, but still not sure if I like it or not..it is a 17 inch and I really need a 17.5 inch (long legs !) so not sure if the restricted feeling is due to the size or just the style . anyone out there tried the Isabell and the Pro.. if yes ... would be good to hear some feedback

I personally love the way the Isabell puts me in position. However I had to buy a Pro as I couldn't afford an Isabell. It's flatter-seated (better for hacking my wild Welshie) and less restrictive. I would personally go for the Isabell, but if you didn't like being wedged into the Isabell then I'd suggest going with the Pro. Of course they may not fit your horse (they are both built slightly differently not only for the rider, but also for the horse) so I'd see which one fitted both me and horsey first! My saddler holds pretty much a full range of Wintecs though so he'd be able to bring me out the right size of both and let me compare.

I currently have a Wintec Pro jumping saddle which is great, and is a good fit (Mickey is a Trakehner, but very much leaning to the TB type rather than warmblood).
I didn't think the Isabell was such a good fit so maybe the Pro might be better. Will have to see if I can get a Pro to try alongside
Thanks for the comments though, is helpful to hear other peoples views

I have a Wintec Isabelle & it fits my thoroughbred really well - it has a different fit at the back, sort of wider & flatter. I previously had the Wintec 2000 GP & this didn't fit him at all in the end. I understand (could be wrong?!) that the Pro dressage fits more like the Wintec GPs, so probably wouldn't fit my boy as well. I tried a friends Pro dressage before I bought the Isabelle & do prefer the Isabelle as it puts me in a better position. So I think the Isabelle is better for us both!

have you thought about the thorogood saddles? i have a T6 Richard davison one (the ones that look like leather) and i love it! normally i am an albion snob but its seriously comfy. my dressage trainer thinks so too!

Having just got a leather Isabell (secondhand so only £500) I love it already, Blake moves better in it and I've already been able to lengthen my stirrups (which is a good thing when you are 5'1 and your horse is 17hh lol).

ha ha you got it then? good girl

you can now see why I hated your old saddle in comparison to my isabell
