OH is getting me one for my birthday and im kind of decided on a wintes (young horse still developing)
and im pretty much decided on a pro or an isabel werth - who has either and what comments do you have?

I have the IW .. and all I can say is I love it

Check that it fits first! My comment would be that although you can change the width at the front that doesnt mean the rest of it will fit. The width may be correct but the rest of the panel/tree could still be wrong for the horse

teddyt that goes without saying

what i want to know is how the saddles arein general, im not going to buy one that doesnt fit but i want feedback as to how others have found them

I will expand as I don't think my previous comment was much help

I really like my IW , I wasn't a fan of the Pro as I like to feel I am being 'held in'

The IW puts me in a fixed position with the large blocks and high cantle. It has improved my creeping lower leg no end.

My sister (who is a competent rider but has had a 3 year break) rode in it today and really liked it, although when she got of she found it abit funny to walk becaus it does really make you stretch down into your stirrups

thanks ishy, had noticed that the pro had a mcuh flatter seat then the isabell, on which the cantle is higher and the seat deeper
i was wondering if the isabellfelt constrictive, although id probably prefer it for the reasons you just stated

I'll expand too! I have found that on many horses wintec saddles sit up at the back, regardless as to the width at the front. If you girth it up in the correct place, without a numnah and get someone to lead the horse for you, in a circle and a straight line. If the saddle is off the horses back at the back of the saddle then nothing will make it fit and IMO this is very common with wintec saddles

I have lots of photo's of my saddle on and off my horse if you want to see it in real life (well in a photo!) rather than a stock photo

IW, quite a few people at my yard have it, one with a TB eventer and one with a 14hh cob and they both go beautifully in it, friend with the TB also commented how much better his back has seemed for it, before he was carrying a huge leather saddle (friend is not heavy by any strecth of the imagination) but horse can be a little cold backed and saddle seems to be helping slightly.

I found as soon as i'd found my ideal length it was really easy to get along with .. if I rode to long or short I'd have trouble ! Horse seems to like it too which is a bonus as she has so many niggles

I much prefer the Pro as I don't like being 'held in', and it can be used for jumping (easier) as it is almost a GP with dressage flaps IMO. The IW didn't fit Pip either.

I prefer the Isabell as I like to be held in, but I got a Pro instead so I could use it to hack and jump in (very teeny tiny 1' things!) I once jumped in an Isabell, just a small log on the floor (must have been 18") and the horse cat-leapt and pulled all the muscles down the fronts of my legs, and jarred just about everything! I realise not many people are likely to want to jump in one, but I think it illustrates just how "held" into the Isabell you actually are.
I am thinking of parting with my Pro and I'm quite sad, I've had it for years!

Since having Bri (feb time ish) my leg has dropped so much and I am riding alot more securely now. Bri came on loan with a keiffer dressage saddle and I have just started using that and love it! Should be starting to ride YM's mare so will have another go in her IW
