I bought a second-hand flocked Wintec 500 VSD recently from someone who bought it brand new earlier this year. The saddle looks like it has hardly been used, no marks on it or the girth straps. I absolutely loathe Cair so was happy I'd managed to source the flocked version. It has sat on my boy's back a couple of times whilst I have sourced the correct gullet for his shape but I wouldn't sit or ride in it until my saddler had been and given it the thumbs up.
Well.... he came today and I was quite horrified with his findings. Yes, the saddle was flocked... but to me that should read "flocked". Inside each panel were a pair of lumpily-filled pockets. You can't really tell form the angle of the photo but they weren't even the same size and were shoddily stuffed.....
Now just to clarify, these pockets are made from the weirdest stuff. It feels like felt to the touch but it is hard and rigid.... my husband likened it to "the stuff they make bowler hats out of".
I took a video which I hope shows how hard these things are.... (please excuse the men rambling in the background!!!)

They have naturally gone in the bin and said saddle has now been flocked properly, in front of me!
So just to warn you.... if you don't like Cair and have purchased a flocked version of a Wintec... it may be worth having it checked because it may not be as comfortable on your horse's back as you think.
Would just like to say that apart from that, I'm very pleased with the saddle.....
