Hi,

I am just about to purchase a new saddle but i am stuck....I have weedled it down to either a Wintec GP or close contact. I was just wondering if people have ridden in these saddles or own one and what they think of them...?

Thanks

I have two Wintec gp saddles with cair systems, they fit my tb x perfectly, and I find the deep seat very comfortable even on a three hour hack! So for me well worth the pennies, and they don't take much looking after either.

I have the wintec 500 GP, an fits my TB perfect, and she goes so well in it! We've had some problems finding saddles for her, but this does the job! Not what i wanted but its perfect for her,and saved me lots and lots of pennies!!

What would you want to do in the saddle? the close contact is a very good jump saddle for the money, but obviously wont be suitable if you do lot of dr or showing?!

I have a wintec close contact and I love it , but is useless for hacking , I find it very uncomfy

I have the wintec pro jumping saddle (?), and I find it OK for short hacks but after riding for about an hour and a half in it today I can confirm it isn't the comfiest saddle I've ridden on!

I am intending on concentrating on sj and corss country....but i also want to do one day eventing..which is were i am stuck....i dont know whether a gp woul be better or a close contact.....i do quite alot of hacking on him to build up muscle in him but i do equal amount of schooling so i dont really know what would be better......thanks for your comments though...they have helped me on my way to deciding

thanks

I think the Wintec 2000 is the saddle for you as there's a bit more to it than the Wintec 500. You have all the benefits of a GP saddle so it's versatile but the sticky suede knee and seat gives more security if you are to jump. Your knees just sink into the knee rolls. I got my Bates from equestrianclearance.com but have a Wintec 2000 for general hacking and I think these are a good price too.

Hi, I have a Wintec close contact and at the moment have to do everything in it as I have sold my (too small) dressage saddle and waiting to get pennies together to afford a new one .. so I am jumping (obviously) , hacking and schooling with it and I personally still find it very comfy
