I am too much of a scrooge to fork out £12 or so for a piece of plastic unless I know it works!

Are they accurate? And easy to use?

I get my saddles checked by a qualified saddler too, but wondered if the gauge would be a worthwhile buy for ongoing checks etc

also, since the wintecs take a while to "settle" after you have changed the gullet, its difficult to check them for fit when you change the gullet as you would when trying on a traditional saddle... so I wondered if the gullet gauge would give a more accurate measure of how the saddle will fit once it has settled?

not a clue, but I ordered the whole set yesterday for Mr constantly growing and changing shape, who has gone from a narrow fitting to a wide in under 6 months, so we shall see!

Think they are invaluable if you have a horse who's shape fluctuates, I've got one to sell, as have sold both of my wintec saddles, have a look on ebay you may find one cheaper on there, thats where I'm planning on selling mine.

Have a look on ebay

Have found mine VERY useful!
Discovered that my lady was Extra Wide when I had her in a Medium

Felt like such an awful mum, but had had saddle fitter out! Swapped gullets and there was an instant improvement in her way of going and behaviour!
Have (of course) used gullet guage since, and have gradually moved back to Medium Wide. It's good to know what's going on! IMHO well worth every penny
