Helloooo..

Right my boy has lost alot of weight this winter...so now his saddle is too big :( i have tried thick numnahs, prolite pads and breastplates to stop it moving while i build his muscle back up....but it still slips back :( i cant afford a saddler atm and i know it will fit him fine when he is a bit chubbier!!

But i <b>can<b> afford a wintec gullet for my other horses wintec saddle which i can put on my boy while he chubbs up the gullet in it is an white extra wide

his current saddle is a wide farrington working hunter its about 8 inches between the flocking

So which gullet would i need???
Does anyone know the width on all of them in inches so i can get an idea??
I would have thought a medium/wide but im not sure :/ :)

Any info on these saddles would be great??? it came with the horse and i rarely use it - horse semi retired :)

Thank you

I have some Wintec gullets here. I just measured them and I'm surprised how little difference there is in the measurements.

Measured across the bottom/widest part of the gullets.
xw 10"
mw 9 1/8"
m 8 7/8"

I can't help on Wintec gullet widths but two slight warnings - firstly are you sure the tree shape fits? You can do a lot of harm if the tree or panel is wrong, even if the gullet is the right width. Plus the mechanism isn't designed for very regular changing out, you can really easily damage the threads etc, so as long as you're using it for a while on the first horse only, and then adjusting for it to go back on your other horse after, you should be fine.

put the gullet on the horse, behind the shoulder where it sits, if it's correct it should follow the line of the horse, not dig in or be too wide. You'll be able to tell if you try a few gullets, you'll see what I mean
