Have you ridden on an Isabell? Suggest you do before buying as they are not to everyones taste.

Have heard mixed reactions to the cair panels, some say that compressed air is actually harder on horses backs than wool flocking. The way the cair panels are constructed does not allow for you to alter them like a Flair panel. IMO the wool is a better option as it is much easier for your saddler to work with should he/she need to tweek the fit of the saddle for you.

The various models of Wintec dressage saddles are surprisingly different to sit in so make sure you try your options. A friend of mine loves her Isabell but I find it too deep. Someone came to try a horse with a Pro and I really liked it.

I've ridden in both verisions of the jumping (close contact in both synthetic and the Bates models) saddles, some with CAIR one without. From my experience most horses don't care much either way BUT I had one that REALLY did not seem to feel comfortable in the CAIR, although she was okay in the same saddle without. Now, since saddles are not all identical maybe it was just that saddle on that horse but I've heard the same thing from other people. Basically I've had decent results from the CAIR although I can't say I've found a huge difference. The air pockets are surrounded by flocking and some alterations are possible. I'm not sure about the dressage saddles but the newer jumping saddles are effectively "kit" made and can be custom ordered.

I have a Cair Wintec 2000, so I would go for Cair. My saddler thinks Cair is brilliant and the best thing for young horses' backs as it's more gentle on them. Try your horse in both and see what he feels best in? I have heard of horses not taking to it, but some go better in it. I think it's down to the individual.
