Hi Everyone.

Can you please let me know if you had a

Wintec Isabell or Wintec Pro Dressage

and let me know good and bad things about them. I know there are other dressage saddles as well (like Thorowgood ones) but I need some info about these 2 Wintecs first please.

Thank you!

Prefer the pro, would advise you try and get to sit in both as it really is personal preference.
(if im right in thinking your the one with the new freisian? the freisian here wears a pro)

I love my Isabell
Hated the PRO when I rode in it but adored the Isabell when I tried it a year or so ago .. finally got round to buying one a couple of months ago and LOVE it !

It puts you in a far more 'fixed' position than the pro

See I disliked the Isabell as I found the position "too fixed" and I couldn't move my hips/legs for lateral work etc.

I have the pro and currently work to elementary level in it no problem

TBH, it depends alot on the horse and how much assistance you need with your dr position! I struggle to keep my knee back and relaxed, so something like the isabell is alot more helpful for me

they are completely different saddles and fit the rider and horse differently.

The pro has the same seat as the wintec GP - so if you need help with your position it isnt going to give you any. That said, it is a perfectly good saddle and as Nats_UK says, she happily works to elementary in it. the panels are narrow and the tree is quite banana shaped so suits TB types best (and not the chunky ones).

The Isabell is a much deeper seat so allows the rider to sit deeper. This means the seat is also much smaller so you need to make sure you can ride it in i.e. I needed an 18" and I normally ride in a 17" dressage and have ridden in a 16" pro. The panels are also flatter and the tree not so banana shaped so is more suitable for something with a flatter back.

I loved riding in the 18" Isabell on a big moving horse but hated the 17" on a pony. Best thing to do is to try both so you can see for yourself which suits you and your horse the best.

Ridden on both and my preference would depend on the horse, had the pro on my old TB and found it versatile able to hack comfortably and pop a jump because of the open seat. Had the isabell for Len when I First got him took a while to get used to it TBH found it restrictive in the beginning but loved it by the end it did however push my legs a little far back so sold it in the end for my albion K2 which is perfect.

Hi everyone,

ok so I will use this for my Friesian Gelding. he is not very broad at the moment due to lack of fitness but will be once I get him back into riding. he has quite a flat back in my opinion. Also, I seem to be leaning forward quite a bit, if the isabell pushes my legs backwards, that isnt really going to help my position is it?

Had a wintec pro, loved it to bits! It put me in a good position, was comfortable, looked smart, fitted horse well! Sold it though as horse wasn't into dressage! :/
Never tried the Isabell.

have had both, loved the Pro, thought I would really like the Isabell but was horribly disappointed, too constricting, too rigid and the position was too extreme for me - had both saddles on the same horse, an IDxTB

I love my isabell soooooo much and unfortunately she just doesnt offer enough space in the gullet for my mare (im really picky now after her KS surgery) she is a brand new saddle sat in my tack room that i cant bare to part with....i know i should but i cant! I felt so secure in that saddle and she could bolt, kick, shy anything and your not coming out!

i miss her!
