Hi all,

Just out of interest, what type/shape horses have people got Wintec Isabell Werth dressage saddles on? I find normal Wintecs way to curvy for my horse usually but someone i know has an Isabell on her flat backed pony and it fits perfectly.

Obviously i know you can't judge whether a saddle will fit by breed etc but I'm just curious as to what horses/ponies they fit.

TIA!:)

I had it on my previous horse who was wide and flat backed and it suited her perfectly. New horse is a bit croup high and narrow in front as he still has some growing and filling out to do, and it tips me forward on him.

My horse is part tb part monster, but his withers are large, yet back not very curved and i think it fits him great he goes well in it.

I have the newest model on my 13hh barrel shaped new forest pony, fits her amazingly! She has recently had to had the thinnest rear riser shims popped in to re balance it :)

Bought mine second hand a 5 years ago, have used it on my 14.1 welsh D (slightly dipped back), 14.3 TBxconnie (short backed) and 16.1 ISH (basically a full thoroughbred, very narrow and weak topline)! Did change the gullet though between the welsh D and the horses. Great saddle :)

Had it on my Spanish mare (lightly built for her breed) was fantastic for about 2 years but once she started to work through her back more it seemed to bug her. Eventually had to upgrade to a WOW and looking to sell the Werth as the WOW nearly bankrupted me. Dragging my feet as I loved it so much so comfy!!

I've got one on my Anglo, barely any wither and not very wide. Fits him lovely, the only thing is I struggle to keep my leg forward due to the stirrup bars being so far back. It is very comfy though. I've also popped a few jumps in it though this I wouldnt recommend haha! I do love mine and wish they made them small enough for my cob.

It depends on the model -

The new model (2010 onwards) has a shorter panel which is more suited to horses with a shorter back. It is also slightly flatter and there for more suited to flatter backed horses (ie warmblood types). It has a slightly broader panel bearing surface and is able to take the full range of easy change risers in the insert/pocket system (so you don't have to touch the CAIR panels when changing risers.

The original Isabell (which is being relaunched for Wintec's 30th birthday this year) has longer, slightly more curved panel and is suitable for horses with a dip behind the wither (ie Thoroughbred red types). It has a slightly narrower panel bearing surface.

If anyone is interested, here is them side by side :)
