Was going my Wintec to a friend for her TB, but saddler has said points of tree are too long for her horse :(. I've just bought the Wintec fitting kit, so if I can get the points shortened then I'll have a spare saddle for the future once my friend has finished with it :)

I don't really understand this. If the points of the tree are too long then presumably that means they are digging in to the horse's shoulders but if the tree *angle* was correct, ie the fit as in medium, wide etc, then the length of the points shouldn't be terribly relevant?

If anyone told me that a saddle's tree points were too long I would be worried that they were trying to fit a saddle that was too narrow for the horse.
