Has anyone used the Wintec pro stock saddle - if so opinions please. Also does anyone have one that they mabe be selling second hand?
I am looking at stock saddles generally for starting my youngster, its a long way off yet I know, but has anyone bought from Auz or the States ? and could possibly recommend any makes or brands in the low/ mid price range ( I am not planning spending £1000 -1500!)

Many thanks

I had one, we got it for my mothers cob, it fitted her well and was a bit more secure for mum than a 'normal' style saddle. We also used it on our shire horse it really suited her high withers and on the odd occasion on the dark bay mare in my signature. I had a couple of youngsters that i was working with at the time and was teaching them to lead from another horse, it gave me an extra feeling of security when doing this. I found it really comfortable.

I love stock saddles, they're so comforable & you feel very secure in them.
I like the look of the wintec saddle but it's very expensive, equestrian clearance do them the cheapest but still over £700.
If I had the money I would buy one today.
I didn't know anything about them until using one in Botswana on safari, I was riding for 7 hours a day including galluping & jumping & fell for the saddles then. My friend hated them & only used one once so if you can try before you buy.
You don't want to make an expensive mistake.

I've just bought one new (online) for £535 but they only had one in stock! It arrived yesterday and it's yummy. I had one a few years ago and it was great, sold it when I sold the horse, what a mistake!

Second hand ones are as rare as hens teeth!

Other than that you could contact Pippensqueak (ebay store) as they sell all different types (synthetic and leather) and will fit it to your horse as best they can using a wither tracing and photos

Yes, thanks Polygon I ve looked at pippensqueak, youve just bought a Wintec Pro sStock saddle then, not an imported leather one from Auz or the States?
I am not sure I would risk buying a leather on from there until I ve heard from someone who has already.
I wouldn't really know a good stock saddle from a bad one ATM .

My youngster is going to a very well known Auzzie Horse breaker next summer and I know he sells them to clients, but the cheap ones are up in the £800.00 mark.
I was hoping not to spend that much!
