whats you opinion on them? how much do you think a 2nd one will cost? would you buy a new one online, if you would who do you recommended?

i had a saddle fitter out and we tried on a wintec 2000 but she said a VSD would suit him better as he has got big shoulders. but she didn't have any VSD with her.

I love my vsd! And possibly more importantly, 3 different horses have too. I have had to switch gullets, and it's not been a problem. But they've all had vaguely similar backs...

Mine cost under £300 delivered with girth, numnah, stirrups, "leathers" and a non-medium gullet specially installed...

If you buy online specify length of girth or you could get one far too long!

Mine still looks like new after 3 years of unkind use, so beware of a tatty 2/h one, I'd wonder what on earth had happened to it.

he is a 3 year old and IMO a leather one is going to be wasting money. he will have a leather one when he has finished growing but until i'll have to put up with the wintec.

Yup - have had two VSDs now and love them! Just bought new one for £279 as my youngster had outgrown the last one. how typical that she decided width wasn't the issue, but length was. Argh!

oh and managed to sell the old one for £170 which for second hand isn't a bad return. So if you keep it in good condition, you'll get at least a decent amount to put towards his next saddle.
