Considering going all out western with my horses and have just had a look at a few saddles at my local tack store. Seems to be a lot of heavy indian rubbish out there. Came across the Wintec synthetic western saddle and I really like it! Seems alot lighter in weight (even to the english version) than the others. Very comfortable, practical and reasonably priced.

Can anyone recommend these? Can they be used in shows?

Can anyone enlighten me on what the quarter horse bars do? Are they like the phish system with english saddles? Do they change the gullet size? I'm a bit confused? (doesn't take much these days :s)

Any info much appreciated :)

Yes they are ok I know a few people with them and would say a much better bet than the indian ones just make sure one will fit your horse.. and yes you could show in one but most people would advise a nice american made saddle in a pale color leather with or with out some silver, black or dark color is considderd a little naff esp if you are doing a pleasure class.... keep the wintec for schooling and day today
the bars are the fit.. semi quarter horse= narrow TB types and arab, quarter horse bars a cob type, fqhb wide the built like a tank quarter horse rope horse, foundation ,bulldog type ...
