My new mare is proving very hard to fit,she is an extra wide at the mo and is quite barrel like so after going through 20 saddles! we have decided a wintec wide would be the best one for now as she is going to grow so much within a few months and this seems the best option. I've tried it and it feels fine,i was only in it for 5 mins though so am going to try it again tonight to make sure i'm happy with it. Sorry ? is if you have one do you find it comfy, value for money etc.

I recently bought a second hand one for my uber-wide pony. He takes the widest gullet at the moment, and I honestly thought I was going to have to have a saddle custom made!! I find it comfy and it has quite a deep seat so I feel quite secure in it.

I like the fact that they will adjust from the standard (red) wide gullet to the extra extra extra extra wide (purple) gullet so it should still fit my pony when he loses some more weight.

I didnt think you could use the red gullet in one - only the white one upwards? Not sure tho

Yes I have one -bought from new - its has flock not cair as I thoughtt he cair ones were a bit light and bouncy/flappy.

I think its a good quality saddle - had it 7 months used it every day for at least eight hours a week and its excellent - still looks brand new.

It still feels like it is adjusting to me and my horse if that makes sense? but is getting better every month I use it!

I would reccommend one :-) the brown ones are very smart - they only thing I could criticise on it is that I wich is was straighter cut to give big wide shoulders a bit of room.

we bought one to tide us over until a new saddle arrived as the pony wasnt really doing much, its the cair one we got. did the job for a couple of weeks and still looks like new. we got it off ebay new for £230. think we will sell it now the ideal one has arrived. its the tan one with Cair im not sure of the size 16 1/2 I think.

I've had mine for nearly four years now, and its still looks like it did the day I got it, its totally moulded to my pony and its really comfortable for me, we use it for showing, hacking, dressage, you name it. I got the flock as the Cair panels never quite seem to settle because they're full of air they just spring back into shape and my pony didn't go the same, I had one of each, but sold the Cair.

I dont think you're supposed to put anything lower than the white gullet in, although I have the med/wide one in now and it's fine, pony's lost so much fat off her withers but now its sorted and still going great guns.

Hi tried it again tonight and it withstood my mare fly bucking/spinning etc : long story!
I think i'll get it,i've got it on trial from the saddler (he's so trusting!) it's the brown cair one,i've got an Isabelle too and thats a nice saddle as well)
It'll do her a year the saddler thinks which is fine,i just want to ride my mare!
You can only use the extra wide gullet upwards on the wide wintec, you shouldn't use the red one my saddler has mentioned.Hence why i'll have to get a new saddle next year as she'll be a wide by then the saddler thinks.

I bought one after it was the only saddle to fit my Welsh cob. I didnt want a Wintec because I thought they were cheap yucky saddles. But actually its great! Had it 3 years now and its extremely comfy and fits well. Only thing I fault it on is the knee rolls are very much VSD so I can't have my stirrups as short as normal for jumping in (or else my knees stick out in front of them!) and the knee rolls aren't padded much at all for any support, but then I think thats a synthetic thing.

Love the CAIR and also the fact I can change the gullet whenever I like. Worth every penny I think.
