I have a wintec wide cob saddle that came with 3 lilac colours gullets, and which I have fitted with a white gullet as recommended by a saddler, as he said these saddles are not quite so thigh stretching for the rider! However the white extra wide is a tad too wide and I am wondering if I could put a red gullet in this saddle. Cant find anything on the wintec site, cant even find the bit about being able t o fit these saddles with the white gullet, although I know I did see the info on there somewhere.

It says on a label / tag on the saddle that the gullets you can use are red, white and the purple range. I noticed this label when my saddler was taking out he cair to put in flocking. I too use the white gullet and may have to go down to the red one.

red is the medium wide gullet that will give you around 4.5" gullet space and 8.5" between D rings, the size down from that is black which is medium. My cob had a red gullet in her saddle.

I actually asked that question to the wintec people at your horse a few years ago and yes you can put a red gullet in the wintec wide, the red gullet is the narrowest you can use in the wide saddles.

thanks. bought my saddle second hand so no info with it. I will try and force a red gullet in, was hard enough getting the white one!

Look under the girth straps, there should be a label which says WARNING and then says which gullets you can use (and includes the red one)
