Has anyone tried the wintec wide, because i'm trying to find a saddle that fits my well built sec D. I currently have a wide leather saddle, which sits quite high above his withers ( at least 5 fingers). I've had it widened once and probably won't be able to have it done again, so i was looking for something that i can adjust a his shape changes. any ideas welcome.

Hi

I have a Wintec Wide for my dales x. To be honest its not perfect, but when I had it fitted by a professional fitter I was told it was the best fit they would find for her. She is very table top. It does lift up at the seat a bit but i think that is also because they are so light. If i had a choice again i would go for a leather one how ever the wintec was £450 and was within my budget at the time. On the plus side you can at least change the gullet on them.

I've got one. Bought originally for my newly backed rescue mare who was a positive picnic table on top! Stopped fitting her as her shape changed with regular riding so I now use it on my porky veteran Section D. It's a lovely saddle and as CW says probably the best fit out there for an off-the-peg. Comes with 3 interchangeable gullets for small changes of ned-shape. Mine rubs a little at the back (Sunny's back, not mine lol) but that's because Sunny has lost some muscle tone in his back. I'd recommend it but as with any saddle, you really need to check it fits properly before you buy one.
