Do you prefer winter chaps or over trousers which ones?
I need new as just dug my chaps out and they have a huge rip in them (really not saveable)
Quite like the thought of not having a cold bum so thinking trousers but are they restrictive at all?
Also which ones do you recommend?
The ones I had were equenox but can't seem to locate them?

I've had Musto chaps for about 10yrs and they are v v warm. Long lasting and easy to wash. Not totally waterproof in heavy, prolonged rain but pretty good in normal conditions.

Harry Hall over trousers all the way for me!!!!

Portsea are this years version-kensingtons are last years versions

Brilliant! Waterproof and so warm!

i have rohan winter bags! keep you warm to -15. comfey to wear, easy to wash and dry and do ok to ride in!! i also have musto chaps very good. excellent on top of rohan bags!

I have an ancient pair of suede chaps, which are excellent over breeches, need brushing for rennovating every now and again, but wear very soft and keep me warm :)

Had the chaps and over trousers but last year as it was so cold I bought some sallopettes with braces, got a bigger size so I was comfy riding in them and the braces are a must. I dont know how I lived without them:D

I prefer overtrousers, don't like the 'bum hanging out' style of chaps, and if it is raining then you still get a wet bum! I have musto over trousers which are brilliant, but I must admit that I wouldn't have paid the full price for them. I paid £15 from our local saddlery from their reduced rail - wonder if someone reduced them a little too much! http://www.scottsoflangholm.com/equestrian-c69/trousers-c90/musto-musto-innovation-overtrousers-p5 I like that they don't sound scratchy when you move, they have fleecy insides which feels nice. With long johns under they are ace in the winter and comfy for riding too. Though if you are taller you might find they could do to be longer (I have a 34'' inside leg and they are a bit shorter than idea when riding). The sizes come up generous. I am usually a 12, but my 12 in these are still rather generous even over my normal jods!

I have just got some of these. Really please with them. They are not rustly and have just a little filling so they are warm but not sweltering. :o)

ETA - Also have full length side zips so easy to get on and off!

Im just in the process of trying to decide which waterproof trousers to get.....i have never had any before...like the look of the mark todd ones....but what is the seat like?? has it got any sort of textured seat?

If I remeber correctly the seat is just the same waterproof fabric and is not suede or anything like that. I do not find them slippy to ride in but then I do have a sheepskin seat saver so do not know what they are like if you are sitting on leather! They are nicely fitted without being restrictive and I would say are pretty true to size.

I have a pair of rambo full chaps and I love them! Would choose them over over-trousers any day. They are waterproof with fleece lining and are so warm!
