Hi!
i have a 17hh 5yro TB who lives out 24/7 in a 20 acre field with plenty of grass and a very warm rug. In the past week I've noticed he's lost weight and although he's not underweight I am keen that he doesn't lose too much. He is not currently in work as the ground is too wet and muddy!
I bring him in for about 3 hours a day when he has as much hay as he can eat. He has one feed a day which consists of half a scoop f calm & condition, 1 scoop Bileys no.1, 1 scoop fast fibre and 5 handfuls honeychop. He is moving to a new home with me in spring where he can go on 2 or 3 feeds a day but I just want to get him through this winter as he is if at all possible.
I am thinking of switching the honeychop for Alfalfa With oil. Has anyone got any other suggestions please? Bringing him in at night is an option but would rather avoid this if possible as life is a little complicated at the moment to say the least!
thanks xxxx
