Winter has arrived!

All the livery yard horses are now IN (at nights at least) which means mucking out and yard sweeping, and all the things I've happily forgotten about over the extended summer!

We keep ours in every night all year round as I like to know they are snuggled up and safe - thought I acknowledge that I am mad and they'd be perfectly happy out once they got used to it...

Mine have been coming in at night for two weeks now. Last week it was still very mild here and I had to go down the field and lead them up with headcollars but since the temperature dropped the last few nights they've been thundering up the field and charging into the stables under their own steam. I just stand out of the way! They hate that cold north wind.

So its mucking out again from now til April.
