Hi, I'm new to this so hope it posts o.k. Does anyone else have the same problem as I do with mane loss over winter caused by neck rugs and, if so, does anyone know of anything that helps to stop it. My boy has a lovely mane until you get half way down his neck. Just get it right over the summer and same thing happens again.

I found that I stopped having the problem by not using neck rugs (except on clipped horses when it was raining heavily etc.) Mine must have been too warm as since using classic necks we haven't had any loss of mane.

My Luso p/b a lovely long mane, I use detachable neck covers and make sure the material is sponged down on a daily basis so the grease doesn't pull the mane out, I also only use
the neck cover when it is raining.

Detachable necks only, no neck rugs when you can. Wipe down inside and spray with coat shine. A sheepskin cuff on the wither of all rugs helps too.
