You mean something like this: http://www.vulcanrubber.co.uk/rubber-grass-mats.cfm It needs to be installed properly, and its not something you can just 'lay on' as the matting needs to be filled, otherwise you end up with a mat of holes. Good ol'fashioned grit? Maybe the best solution...
