was looking at the Mountain Horse Polaris or Active rider ?? Want something similar style to a normal riding boot ro something that is not really heavy or chunky but will keep my toes toastie. I ride a fair bit in the cold and wet and by old Ariat thermal boots rub my boys sides... thought it was my crap lower leg but the patches only appear when I ride in these particular boots......... any ideas appreciated, budget of about £100........ would consider a short boot as could wear with chaps.....

i have the mark todd winter riding boots, very similar to the mountain horse. they have kept my feet toasty, and are brill to ride in!
i got mine off ebay for £69.99 with free p+p so they are well worth a look. nice budget boot and does the job it says!

I ve got Suffolk Tuffa boots( About £130ish now I think) from two years ago and they are still keeping my feet warm and dry are lovely to ride in and got loads of grip on icy ground.
Just bought Ariat Grasmeres but not worn 'em yet so cannot judge. I think they are just too nice to be worn in bad weather conditions thoug, and the price - horrendous! but a Christmas prezzie so........
