I'm in need of some new winter riding boots, I don't have the best circulation and want to make sure I'm well prepared for those freezing winter rides where your toes turn to ice!

I think I'm going to go with Mountain Horse as they fit me really nicely, I had the Active Winter Rider boots last year which I was really happy with but am quite disappointed with how quickly they have worn out (lots of cracks/holes and I took very good care of them). I was considering just re-purchasing the same again as they did keep my feet warm and fitted nicely, but have been googling and seen the Rimfrost ones - for those of you who have them, what do you think of them? Are they durable, do they keep your feet as warm as MH promise? I know MH are known for their dodgy zips but I have been lucky so far...
The dark side of me was thinking about the Ariat bromont H2O's, but they are a lot pricier and it's very close to Christmas to be treating myself to such things. For those of you that have them - are the H2O's warm?

Lemon drizzle on offer! x

I have bad circulation too and I bought the rimforst one's there fleeced lined and have amazing grip and kept my feet really warm but after 6 months the zip went at the bottom of the boot, I had it repaired at my local tack shop but after 3 months or so it would break again, so I eventually had to stop wearing them, but I've never found a pair of boots again that have kept my feet as warm as they did.

ive got mountain horse high rider boots, more expensive than the rimfrost but love them and have had no problems after 3 years, use them for yard work and riding daily...i got mine from e bay for £93 so if you know what size you need it may be worth a look.

Daughter has poor circulation and bought her the Stella Polaris Mountain Horse boots last Christmas. They're still going strong despite her wearing them all through the summer too!

I've just bought a pair of MH Rimrock boots. They are fleece lined and have a velcro fastening as opposed ot a zip so no worries of the zip breaking!

I have the Ariats. They are SO comfy and took no wearing in whatsoever (in the foot at least, I did have to wear them a couple of times for the leg to drop and stop poking me in the back of the knee!). Can't comment on how hard wearing they are as I've only had them since September.

Haven't had the Mountain Horse to compare.

I've had both, the MH Stella Polaris I had to sell on, they were made for an Amazonian... Or maybe I'm just a Pygmy, literally felt like thigh length! I have junior MH which are very rugged as the soles are very heavy duty, but aren't marketed as winter boots - they do cut my circulation off because of my fat legs. I have since bought ariat grasmeres and they are incredible, I haven't had any problems with length, supremely comfortable (they make the MH feel like blocks of cement now) and are waterproof. They also do a version called grasmere glacier which are insulated although I think the standard ones are already incredibly warm. The only problemo is that they look like a country boot so very casual in appearance. So I found myself buying the ariat bromont insulated, I haven't received them yet but have high hopes for them, they look so pretty! I bought them reduced to £200 but I think they are usually closer to the £300 mark.

I have the mountain horse winter riders (short ones, I'm 5'1"). They are the only things that have ever kept my feet warm in winter! After 9-10 years I have had to admit I need a new pair, but they are AWESOME!

I have the normal bromonts and I love them, the comfiest boots I've owned. My friend has the h2o's and says they're really warm, but personally I wouldn't know. I just wear thick socks in the cold and my feet keep toasty.

One thing I can say is if you try both the bromonts and the mh boots on, you'll most likely find yourself leaning towards the ariats because they're a million times more comfortable. That's what I did at least. Was going to get the mountain horse. Tried on the bromonts and logic and reason went out the window, along with the extra 100 ish pound...

The rimfrost are cosy and the fabric is very durable, but I've had to get the stitching redone around the front of the ankle twice. I have them years though
