I've been granted a 5-6 acre field for my mare. Lovely. She lives out 24/7 and this field is perfect. She has neighbours, and will probably see others all the time, but due to others restrictions, she will be alone in this field. (Plenty of grass!)
She has always wintered out in company before, so I'm getting worried that the neighbours won't be enough.
Is it worth asking around to see if there is any young fillies or older / retired mares that need what I have? Or do you think what she can see will be company enough?

I would personally see how it goes and if she settles. If you feel after a week or two that she needs company then I'd start looking... I bet you'll be inundated with people offering you companions!

I would imagine she will probably adjust to just seeing her neighbours but if you want some company for her I'm sure the Blue cross are always in need of temperary homes for youngsters until they take them back for breaking in.
