I was riding before work and going down a bridleway which has either a stony track or a little track down a bank both ending up at the same place.

I decided to ride down the little track because I hadn't done for about a year. Didn't realise how low the branches were now I have a big horse. I bent right down to go under a branch and then just as I sat back up again I got smacked in the face by another branch with no give in it. It swept me off backwards and I fell off the back into a big puddle. Happy was so good and stood still whilst I picked myself up all drippy and covered in mud. I laughed all the way home. I haven't fallen off for ages and ages and def. not like that for a very long time!!
 
Yes I was. Thank god H didn't go anywhere. He did have a rather alarmed expression on his face though - probably because I was making cackling noises as I was in fits of laughter as I pulled myself up out of the puddle.
 
Oh gawd that's happened to a couple of my pals out hunting (never to me cause I am a midget).

One old fella was left hanging there while the horse carried on, and a girl I used to ride with got a very bloody nose, so I am glad it was only your pride that was hurt!
 
hehe i did that once as a kid, had several small ponies and a 2 big neds and completely forgot the height difference when cantering through the woods! glad I'm not the only one!
 
Exactly - I had tears of laughter pouring down my face. Didn't hurt myself at all but it was so funny and totally unexpected... bit like someone running into a lamppost (although I reckon that would hurt!!).
