Argh just arranged to go see a dog in her foster home tomorrow to see if she might be suitable for me!! Nervous/ excited. It says on her profile she's well behaved on and off the lead, cat friendly etc but she's had 6 homes in 18 months so I want to determine why. I'm really worried my bitch won't get on with her, my dog is a little terrier x (crossed with the devil I think) and sometimes takes a dislike to some dogs for no apparent reason. Anyway hope it goes well! Never got a dog from rescue before so don't really know what to expect.

Good luck! If you are taking your dog to meet her (which you certainly should do at least at some point), let them 'meet' in a neutral place if possible, somewhere secure where they can be off lead. My dog is not brilliant with others on lead as she's nervy so puts on a big aggressive act. Off lead though she is totally different so it always works best with her to have her off lead when meeting a strange dog

Thanks! Yes, well I'm going to see her straight after the farm tomorrow so will have Ruby with me anyway. Whether or not the fosterer wants me to introduce them then is up to her. We're meeting in a pub carpark and going for a walk in a nearby field. Ruby attacks things when she's on the lead as well! But fine off it. I'm just worried she'll get food aggressive/ be possessive over her house if we do bring this dog home.

Good luck ! I do hope it works out.
She may be a little star but was just unlucky in not finding the right home for her.

I have a little terrier X devil too and she gets on really well with all dogs but isn't keen on bitches, so we have to stick having boys who she adores.

Thanks, me too! I know, this is what I'm really worried about but all the little boy dogs from this rescue were terrier x and had behavioral problems and weren't cat friendly. I thought 2 terriers might just fight! Roxy is a pug x labrador (no idea how that works) so shouldn't have any aggressive evil terrier tendencies! Just hope Ruby gets on with her!

Don't think I've seen a pug X lab before, do post pictures if you get her !

Fingers crossed for you and Roxy, I bet she'll have a lovely temperament.

She's certainly a bit strange looking but looks very sweet! Only thing is her tongue is too big for her mouth so can choke on it when she gets excited! Of course I'll post pics if it all works out! Home checks haven't been mentioned but I presume they'll go ahead if we do get on tomorrow.
