I think we put up with too much as horse owners. We all know horses can go wrong at any time & I think that charging the full entry fee when someone withdraws (due to horse injury/illness) within 24 hours of entries closing takes the biscuit. If you never get allocated a time then it's hardly caused them an inconvenience.

Should we revolt?!

That explains it then. Seems everyone elsehas money to throw away!?!?! Personally I think it's scandalous. In fact it would be classified as theft if a shop took your money & you didn't collect the goods. It's different if an event is balloted or if you withdraw after the times are given but what exactly did they do for their money? And what's more it didn't give any T&Cs on the entry form either. Humph.

I am currently negotiating to get my money back from a BD event, I have a vet certificate but the cheque has already been cashed although the show hasn't run yet. I do think that with a vet/doctors cert money should be refunded maybe minus an administration fee. But they can usually reallocate places fairly easily.

My vet charges for certs but I was going to get one for trailblazers entries until I realised that all you would get back was half the entry fee of £46, no refund for stabling, "maintenance charge" parking chages etc etc. So basially I would have got back £23 against total of £198! Total rip-off! (did get a friend to pick up the pre-ordered shavings mind you - they were not keen to hand them over though despite the fact they had my stabling card and they were paid for!)
