my mare has a nasty rug rub which went undetected s it was under base of her mane which is thick until she started playing up refusing to let me get on, lost the plot being ridden and went completely to pieces confidence wise. Vet and physio both had look and said wither injury so left rug off, gave her 2 weeks off while i was on holiday. Healed just little scab now, got back on and just hacked walk and trot last week, went in school 1 day walk and trot and was much better. last night lunged and got 1 circle of canter steady but bit fussy still. tonight got 1/2 circle on each rein just about but very fussy and not wanting to at all really but walk and trot work lovely just seems bit stressy and worried still.
didnt help that we just got warmed up and owners daughter came in and jumped and cantered round her as she has show tomo which is fair enough but it worried my mare a bit. we stopped and then continued when she finished.
so anyone else had horse with wither injury and how long did take to recover. dont think she is taking piss as seems genuine.
