I noticed today that one of my dogs has a wobbly tooth! It's one of his upper incisors. He's coming up 8 years old and has had one or two dentals in the past. This tooth looks like it's falling out, the amount it's protruding makes it double the length of the corresponding incisor. I've had a look, and it's very wobbly, but still firmly attached at the centre. He doesn't seem to be in pain, apart from when I was having a look obviously. It's been bleeding a little, from playing with a toy, which is how I noticed it, and from his bone. I can see it's very slightly bloody around the tooth where it enters the gum.
So, what generally happens in this scenario? I gave him the bone in hope that it would help him work it out. Are teeth normally left to fall out in their own time, or does the vet generally remove them? I work at a vets (obviously I haven't seen this particular scenario before!) so I will of course ask at work on Monday, and possibly bring him in to have it sorted (I work at one practice but am a client/owner with a different practice, haha) but wanted to know what to expect!
