Noticed today my ex racer has now got a wolf tooth (he's 7 next month), its small and just below where his bit lies on the top jaw - dentist only came in October and said there was no sign of any and he wouldn't need to come back for a year to 18months... It doesn't seem to be bothering him hugely but do get the head tossing and mouth opening now and again.
Would it be best to just get on and have it taken out or just leave it?

Also noticed the past couple of weeks he's been biting chunks out of his own coat around his girth and stifle area - he has some marks on his chest from when he was in training and vet said he thought it was from him biting himself.
Any idea why he has started doing this? Maybe he is just itchy from the coat change and malting?

Sorry for the essay, plenty of biscuits on offer!

If it is visible and below the bit it sounds more like a late erupting tush/ canine tooth than a wolf tooth which are usually right up against the molars and cannot easily be seen.
