Hi guys

Has anyone had any experience with wolf teeth? Anybody horses had bad behaviour because of wolf teeth? Is it a simple procedure to have them removed?

I ask because my new horse is 8 this month but has 1 wolf tooth. He's started to be nappy so I wondered if it could be the wolf tooth or maybe just his bad behaviour.

Thanks

Had my 4yr olds removed yesterday, very quick process, sedate then nerve block n they're were out in no time. I've not had any probs but he's only 4 and about to begin ridden career so prefer them out. My old horse had his removed at 7 as problematic.

Had my 14yo removed last week, he had two on top next to his teeth. I've not bothered with them before as they don't seem to bother him, no rearing etc.

However then two dentists told me I should have them out, the second one told me why too. Apparently they can affect the way the horse holds the bit, and this can affect the flexing of the neck, which can in turn affect the back. It made sense when he said it. Anyway I figured I won't know unless I have them out. Vet came, sedated horse, small gag in, then popped the teeth, very quick and simple. I've not ridden yet, as he's lame again, but I'm hoping at least he will be more comfortable.
