I don't know if any of you know Chris Riley, she had a horse called Ed at Poplars Farm in Evenlode. She used to be on the same yard as me, and we still saw her as she used to judge some of our dressage competitions.
I have only heard this second hand, but apparently she had been out for a hack on New Year's Eve and took Ed in the school to cool him off afterwards. The next thing, Ed appeared loose on the yard and when whoever was there went out to the school Chris was dead. The air ambulance pronounced her dead at the scene from head injuries.
I have let anyone I know of who knows her know, but I haven't seen anything in the local news about it. I'm hoping I will be able to find out when the funeral is going to be, I didn't know her especially well but as I understand it she had very little family so I would like to go along.
