Iv just been diagnoised with cervix erosion and cervical cyst which i have to have removed by operation. just wondered if anyone else has went through this procedure and how long did it take them to recover and get back into the saddle and what they did with their horses while on recovery?

Hi,

I also have just been diagnosed with cervical erosion, so understand the position you are in.

They are waiting for my smear test result to eliminate nothing more sinister, than have been told I am likely to be referred to a gynae.

My Dr has told me that it may go away on it's own, but if not will need cauterising under local anaesthetic, and from what she described was not a major procedure.

I am lucky as have my horses at home, so am hoping even if I do have any treatment, I can just turn them away for a short holiday until I am back in the saddle.

Could I be nosy and ask what you symptons were/are, as am finding the whole thing a little scary - pm if you like!!

Hi sidney thank you very much for ur reply its nice to know other people are in the same position. Im as you still waiting on smear results to rule out anything else but im being referred anyway to remove the erosion. my only symtoms so far are irregular bleeding so made an appointment for a smear and doctor said the erosion could be the cause of the bleeding although cant help worrying it may be something else and made mistake of reserching it on the internet which dosnt give out any positive vibes but all i can do is wait and see. i too have my girl at home so will hopefully still be able to work with her in hand and give her a bit of time off. hope everything goes well.
